Taking a site through the Local Plan, securing an allocation and submitting and managing an application for a mixed used residential development for up to 2000 new homes. On behalf of Places for People, it will deliver a substantial contribution to the housing needs of Thanet.

An application is currently under consideration by Thanet District Council.

We have been involved with this project since an early stage through promoting the site at EiP for the now adopted Local Plan, undertaking pre-application discussions with the LPA, providing ongoing planning strategy advice, EIA coordination, collation, submission and managing a hybrid planning application.

Our role has been to project manage the planning application throughout the whole process with some complex highways infrastructure issues.

This project was one of the earliest instructions for Gillings Planning so it has allowed us to go on the planning journey with the client team from the earliest days. It has presented a serious of challenges which has required some real problem solving skills, allowing to add value to our client team. Ultimately it will provide much needed housing and facilities and fulfil the aspirations of the Local Plan for the area.
