The site is located in the historic city of Winchester. The development comprises a single, high quality and sustainable one-off four bedroom home; situated within the curtilage of a Grade II listed property and the Winchester Conservation Area.

Our involvement began with the preparation and submission of a request for pre-application advice to Winchester City Council, where we worked closely with the project architects to compose a sensitively designed home, which successfully responded to the site’s constraints.

We then led pre-application discussion with Officers to agree the detailed site layout, scale and design principles. Following this, we prepared, submitted and successfully negotiated a detailed planning application for the construction of the new home.

Being involved early at the pre-application stage enabled us to work closes with the project architects and other technical consultants to ensure that the development responded appropriately to all of the sites constraints and to build a strong, positive working relationship with the Planning Officers.

This forged a proactive and positive application stage, maintaining regular contact with the Case Officer and working together to overcome any challenges. Ultimately, this enabled permission to be granted via delegated powers.

The development provides a high quality and sustainable new home, within the heart of the historic city of Winchester, with a contemporary twist.
