Project Story
On behalf of Frontier Estates, we secured full planning permission for a new local centre to serve the Western Neighbourhood of the Bishop’s Stortford North Urban Extension.
The care home is now constructed and operated by Quantum Care and the nursery is currently under construction, to be operated by Bright Horizons.

Our Planning Journey
We were appointed from an early stage to engage in pre-app discussions with the Council to ensure that a care home led scheme would be acceptable and to discuss matters relating to scale and layout.
Having identified the key issues, we worked closely with the project team to prepare a full planning application. This included community engagement in the form of a leaflet to local residents and a meeting with the Town Council.
We established a good relationship with officers from an early stage and negotiated amendments which led to a recommendation for approval and approval by the Planning Committee.

Making a difference
Being part of an urban extension, the local centre forms an important facility for local residents. When we were appointed, a large number of properties were already occupied and residents were keen to see progress with this part of the wider scheme.
Delivery of the care home meets an identified need in response to an ageing population, diversifying the mix of accommodation on the wider site.
Delivery of the nursery will also provide a much-needed facility for local residents in close proximity to their homes.
