The site was allocated for employment within the adopted Poole Local Plan. The policy stated employment areas ‘should be maintained primarily to provide within use classes B1, B2 and B8’. We provided the marketing and policy evidence to enable the Council to justify sui generis use on the site.

Gillings Planning were instructed through Rekan on behalf of Snows Motor Group to provide a planning consultancy role.

Due to the short timescales of the targeted opening date for the car sales and display showroom, Gillings Planning where involved in the design meetings from a start of the project to ensure all the required detail for a full planning application was prepared.

The success of this application was the ability to build a close relationship with the Council, having open and honest conversations, which helped to secure planning permission and bring a vacant brownfield site within an industrial area back into use, incorporating a high-quality designed building and landscaping scheme to achieve BREEAM to a standard of Very Good.
