Anna is our Managing Director, with many years of consultancy experience. Anna established the business in 2017, having worked in private sector consultancy at Rapleys, Broadway Malyan and most latterly as a Director at Turley.
Anna specialises in care, having worked extensively in the sector, but equally, is a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, delivering Environment Statements for large scale residential and commercial projects. Outside of work Anna bakes, and as a result, runs (slowly).

Dan is a Director at Gillings Planning and joined the team in January 2018. He started his career at Southampton City Council before moving to Turley and then WYG.
Dan brings expertise in a wide range of sectors including commercial, new homes and strategic land promotion. In his spare time, Dan can be found outside getting muddy or smoky, either with his family or on his many Scouting adventures.

Hannah joined Gillings Planning in October 2017 as an Associate Director having previously been at Rapleys and Turley (and Nuneaton and Bedworth before that).
Hannah has worked across the sectors, but focussed on residential and brings an eye for detail. She is a talented crafter, which she fits in around her two beautiful girls.

Tom joined Gillings Planning as an Associate Director in July 2018.
With over six years of private sector experience gained at Turley, and through working on many high-profile projects in a range of sectors including care, higher education and commercial development, Tom brings additional expertise to the team.
When not at work he is most likely to be found on his bike which he races competitively.

Rachel has been working with Anna since the inception of Gillings Planning and is an Associate Director within the team.
Rachel also comes from a consultancy background with experience gained at Lichfields and Turley. She supports the team across all our projects. Of an evening Rachel sings with her band and enjoys life in a household of boys.

Laura joined the team as an Associate Director in December 2018. She has consultancy and Local Authority experience having previously worked at WYG, Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council and Havant Borough Council.
Laura is a proud Brummie who now enjoys living beside the seaside. Outside of work, she enjoys walking in the New Forest (especially where there is a country pub at the end) and travelling as much as she can!

Emma joined the team in March 2018 as a Senior Planner. Emma has been at Bournemouth Borough Council previously, in the Development Management team.
Emma is a busy Mum and when she gets the chance she enjoys running with a local community group, baking (and eating) cakes and all things craft related. There is a definite theme amongst the team!

Kate joined the team in September 2018 as a Senior Planner and joined us from Chichester District Council’s Planning Policy team; before that she worked in the Development Management team at Test Valley Borough Council.
Outside of work Kate also enjoys running with her local community group but also needs her running trainers to keep up with her mischievous boys.

Hannah is our Office Manager and holds us all together. She is adept at managing multiple deadlines and requests for information, and the demands of her dog, Reggie.

Phil graduated from the Bartlett School of Planning at UCL with a Distinction in Spatial Planning, joining the team in November 2021. He is currently undertaking his APC, working towards becoming a Chartered member of the RTPI.
Nathan Turner

Nathan joined the team in October 2021 as an Assistant Planner, having previously worked for Winchester City Council's Planning Support team.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys organising and competing in gaming tournaments, as well as kicking a football and hitting a shuttlecock.
Senior Planners
Gillings Planning Ltd is an independent town planning consultancy based on the south coast in Colden Common, Hampshire; ideally situated between the bustling cities of Southampton and Winchester. Established in June 2017 we’ve already grown to an awesome and highly experienced team of eleven.
We’re now seeking senior planners to join our team, helping us to progress existing and new projects including strategic site promotions through the plan-making process, preparation of planning applications and appeals for a wide variety of development proposals, initial feasibility studies and appraisals, community engagement and general problem solving.
We work across many planning sectors, including new homes, care homes, schools, mixed-use urban developments and other commercial projects.
Candidates should hold an RTPI accredited degree and either have completed or be working towards their APC submission. In return we offer a competitive remuneration package relative to skills and experience with excellent opportunities for progression in an attractive working environment.
