Our role
The site comprises 96 hectares abutting the southern extent of the built form of Westgate-on-Sea and Garlinge, near Margate, Kent. The application seeks outline planning permission for the whole site and full planning permission for 120 dwellings (Phase 1).
Our involvement commenced back in 2018 with the successful promotion of the site through the local plan, including representation at the local plan examination in public, and securing the allocation of the site in the Thanet Local Plan for up to 2,000 homes, open space, associated retail, land for a primary school and medical centre along with highway improvements. Since then we have been working on the planning application to bring forward the allocation, including the coordination of the Environmental Statement, with the wider professional team.
The application is the subject of negotiation including on highway and viability matters, and we look forward to a committee determination in due course.
