Our role
Our initial appraisal assisted with the purchasing of this former Hospice site in a residential area outside of Chichester. The site is characterised by its back-land location and it related closely to a number of residential properties within its immediate vicinity. Extensive public consultation was undertaken with the Local Authority, key stakeholders and local residents to ensure that the proposals were developed collaboratively. The public response at the exhibition was predominantly positive.
Gillings Planning project managed the planning application development process and the final scheme submitted was a high quality, bespoke care home. Planning permission was approved via delegated powers and the care home is now completed on site and operated by Care UK providing an excellent environment for residents whilst respecting the amenity of immediate residential neighbours that adjoin the site.
