Our role

Our initial appraisal assisted with the purchasing of this former Hospice site in a residential area outside of Chichester. The site is characterised by its back-land location and it relates closely to a number of residential properties within its immediate vicinity. Extensive public consultation was undertaken both with the Local Authority, key stakeholders and local residents to ensure that the proposals were developed collaboratively. The public response at the exhibition was predominantly positive.

Gillings Planning has project managed the planning application development process and the final scheme is a high quality, bespoke care home that will provide an excellent environment for residents whilst respecting the amenity of those residential properties the site adjoins.

Outcomes

  • Pre-application submission in December 2017
  • Meetings with planning officers and the Parish Council
  • Community consultation with local residents
  • Planning application excepted to be submitted in summer 2018
